AWSP's La Cima Bilingual Leadership Camp has been honored with a Lifelong Learning Award from the Latino Community Fund. Pictured above is Zain Paloalto, senior counselor at La Cima, accepting the $3,000 grant that accompanies the award. La Cima ("The Summit") helps Latino student leaders develop the skills to create positive changes in their schools and communities.

  • Please Join Video Conference on H1N1
    OSPI and the Washington State Department of Health will be hosting a statewide K-20 video conference regarding the H1N1 flu on Monday, Nov. 16, 3-5 p.m. The video conference will include critical material for principals, assistant principals and other building leaders.

  • Nominate an Outstanding Adviser
    Each year, the Washington Association of Student Councils (WASC) recognizes outstanding advisers who have demonstrated service, dedication and leadership to student activities. Submit your nomination by Nov. 20!

  • Statewide Flag Lowering: Nov. 9
    Gov. Chris Gregoire has directed that flags at all state agencies be lowered to half-staff Monday, Nov. 9, in memory of U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 4 Michael P. Montgomery of Redmond, who died last week in Afghanistan.
