Intern Support
AWSP supports candidates for the principal internship with a variety
of resources. Many of these resources focus on the Interstate School
Leaders Licensure Consortium (ISLLC) Standards, a set of standards
developed by the Council of Chief State School Officers in collaboration
with the National Policy Board on Educational Administration to help
strengthen preparation programs in school leadership. The standards
were published by the Council in 1996 and have been adopted, adapted or
used by most states in developing their own administrator standards and
licensing policies.
