AWMLP Board of Directors

The AWMLP Board of Directors consists of an executive committee, regional directors and organizational liaisons. The Board meets three times per year in various locations throughout the state.

The AWMLP executive committee (PDF) includes the president, president-elect, past president, vice president, three-year AWSP representative, NASSP coordinator, regional director representative and director of middle level programs.

AWMLP Regional directors (PDF) are selected by members in each of the 15 geographical regions across the state. They represent their regions on the board of directors by making an annual report of regional activities and disseminating information from the board meetings to region members and encouraging continuous professional activity among principals within regions. Regional directors serve a three-year term for a maximum of two full, consecutive terms.

AWMLP Board liaisons (PDF) consist of designees from the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI), Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA), Middle Level Student Leadership Committee, AWSP Diversity Task Force, Middle Level Principal of the Year, Immediate Past Middle Level Principal of the Year and the AWMLP support staff coordinator. Additional liaisons may be appointed.

Professional development opportunities are an integral part of every board meeting. Board members earn clock hours for participation in best practices sharing and presentations relevant to today's educational issues.
