AWSP Member Benefits

Take a look at AWSP's full member benefits flyer.

Member Benefits: 10 Reasons to Join AWSP

  1. Advance as a professional. Take advantage of professional development seminars, workshops and trainings designed specifically for principals and assistant principals.

  2. Stay “in the loop” on current events and issues. Read weekly, monthly and quarterly publications (print and electronic) about issues facing the principalship.

  3. Keep pace with the Legislature. AWSP is the principal’s voice in Olympia. Members receive weekly e-mail updates during the legislative session about issues affecting the principalship and education in our state.

  4. Protect yourself with legal assistance. All AWSP members, regardless of membership level, can consult with our executives for career or situational advice. Active membership includes legal assistance on job-related matters and $1 million in liability insurance through either NASSP or NAESP. Read more about AWSP's professional and legal support for principals.

  5. Get help with your career! Take advantage of career counseling and job opportunity services. Find new job listings in Washington state and beyond. View sample resumes, interview questions and other valuable job-seeking resources.

  6. Find a mentor – or become one. Need advice from someone who’s been through it before? Want to share your experiences with new principals? The AWSP mentoring program helps new and established principals share knowledge and best practices.

  7. Make new professional acquaintances! Network with 2,300 of your fellow principals and assistant principals in the state – and get to know others through our national affiliates.

  8. Advance the profession: become a leader in AWSP. Become a member of one of AWSP’s various boards or committees.

  9. Contribute to student leadership. Be a part of your students' leadership development by sending them to AWSP-sponsored Student Leadership Programs. In addition, when those activities occur at AWSP's Chewelah Peak and Cispus Outdoor Learning Centers, members' students receive a discount.

  10. Don’t reinvent the wheel! Take full advantage of ready-to-use materials (including sample letters) and research from the AWSP website!
