April 18, 2007 Officials announce high school Washington Scholars AwardsThe News Tribune Dozens of local high school students are among this year’s recipients of the Washington Scholars Awards. The Washington Higher Education Coordinating Board and the Association of Washington School Principals presents the awards to three seniors in each of the 49 legislative district. The award includes a scholarship to any public or private college or university in the state. The scholars will be honored at a recognition ceremony next Wednesday on the state Capitol Campus and luncheon at St. Martin’s University in Lacey. Local scholars and their schools are: Kelsey Anderson, Yelm High School; Carolyn Draper, Gov. John Rogers High School; Justin Knutson, Thomas Jefferson High School; Christopher Birge, Timberline High School; Caitlin Halligan, Emerald Ridge High School; Katherine Rempe, Emerald Ridge High School. Dean Spencer, Gov. John Rogers High School; Isaac Kastama, Stadium High School; Kevin Peterson, Stadium High School; Stephanie Skaggs, Wilson High School; Hannah Hunthausen, Henry Foss High School; Melissa McDougall, Stadium High School; Alison Mohrbacher, Bellarmine Preparatory School. Annie Hout, Mount Tahoma High School; Tammy Phan, Mount Tahoma High School; Emily Tollefson, Washington High School; Duy Huynh, Todd Beamer High School; Tara Low, Auburn Riverside High School; Christopher Mount, Thomas Jefferson High School; Kelsey LaRoche, Enumclaw High School; Joshua McCoy, Bonney Lake High School; Jack Peace, Auburn Riverside High School. |
