AWSP Communications Advisory Committee

Purpose

Established in early 2012, the Communications Advisory Committee shapes the way AWSP communicates with members, the media and other stakeholders. This includes content generation and distribution methods covering four e-publications, the association website, a quarterly print magazine, stand-alone marketing opportunities and more.

Goals and Objectives

Communication is one of AWSP’s seven strategic goals:

“AWSP will serve as the primary conduit of information to support members’ work in the principalship.”

Target Objectives

  • Enhance member awareness of AWSP benefits, services and prof. growth opportunities.
  • Provide a variety of communication venues for members to connect with one another and share ideas, information and best practices.
  • Strengthen the AWSP website and raise its profile as the preferred online professional resource for members.

Committee Members

The committee is made up of 15 principals and assistant principals from around the state and from all three grade levels. We’ve also included a school district communications director for added perspective. Members serve two-year renewing terms and meet several times each year.
