for School: Yakima Transition Program, KING5 TV (August 30,
2009)
As parts of its Ready for School, Ready for Life series, KING5
TV takes a look at Garfield Elementary's participation in the Yakima
School District's kindergarten transition program. "To me it is providing
some extra time just for our kindergartners and our kindergarten staff
to get to know each other and the families," says Principal Alan
Matsumoto.

face when a school loses its teachers.
Golden
Apple Awards Video, KCTS 9 (February 25, 2009) Bob Adamson, principal of Terrace Heights Elementary
(East Valley SD-Yakima), and Dave Anderson, principal
of Mount Vernon High (Mount Vernon SD), each received a 2008 Golden
Apple Award for making a difference in Washington state schools. Every
year, the KCTS 9 Golden Apple Awards recognize individuals and
school and community programs for excellence
in education.
