Q. I was contacted today by a former student. She was inquiring how she could obtain the funds that her graduating class of 2004 left unspent. She wanted to use the funds for her 10 year reunion. Could you please shed some light on this?

A. ASB money is public money. When students are enrolled in a public school this money is earmarked for Cultural, Athletic, Recreational, or Social activities for the designated group. After graduation the money stays public and is rolled into the general ASB budget. Class reunions are a private function and public money cannot be used for that purpose.
