Pam Allyn

PamAllyn_2018Pam Allyn is a leading literacy expert, author, and motivational speaker. She is the Senior Vice President of Innovation and Development for Scholastic Education. Pam also founded the organization LitWorld in 2007. Today this groundbreaking global literacy movement serves children across the United States and in more than 60 countries, pioneering game-changing initiatives impacting millions of children and young adults, including LitCamp and World Read Aloud Day. Pam is the author of 26 books for educators, leaders and families on reading, writing, and quality learning.

Michael Haggen

Michael-HaggenMichael is Chief Academic Officer for Scholastic Education. In this role, he ensures that Scholastic is a responsive, comprehensive literacy partner to Pre-K through grade 12 districts nationwide. In Haggen's 20 years of academic experience, he has served as a teacher, principal, chief academic officer and direct report to superintendents. His hands-on approach has led to significant change, most recently in East Baton Rouge Parish School System, where he was Deputy Superintendent.

Dr. Steve Constantino

Steve ConstantinoAuthor, speaker and leader Dr. Steve Constantino has a long and distinguished career in bringing innovation to educational entities and businesses. He is internationally recognized for his work as an organizational engagement expert and is known for his results-oriented, non-conventional, entrepreneurial and outlier approach to leadership. As a master of the stage, Steve has captivated thousands of business leaders, teachers, administrators, school board members and others in amazing keynote presentations and workshops at local, state, regional, national and international conferences.

Dr. Susan Szachowicz

Susan SzachowiczDr. Sue Szachowicz served Brockton High School, a comprehensive urban high school of 4,300 students in Brockton Massachusetts, for her entire career and is Brockton High’s greatest cheerleader. A graduate of Brockton High herself, she served as a History Teacher, Department Chair, Dean, Associate Principal, and for ten years as Principal. In that capacity she led the school’s literacy initiative and transformed the school culture resulting in numerous national and state awards for Brockton High. Her leadership at Brockton High was committed to “high expectations, high standards – no excuses.” Currently Sue is a Senior Fellow with the Successful Practices Network and works with school and district leadership around the country on leadership, literacy, and transforming school culture.


Included in the registration fee:

  • An on-site Literacy Leadership Facilitator assigned to attendees
  • Built-in Planning Sessions (up to 6 hours) to collaborate with leaders from across the nation
  • Literacy leadership planner organized around five key areas - vision, data and goal setting, instructional leadership, professional learning, and school culture
  • Two complimentary professional books (total value: $75)
  • Networking meals included
  • 11.5 clock hours (for Washington educators only)
