About the Series

The Building Effective Leadership Network brings principals and assistant principals three opportunities to maximize their leadership during year 2 and beyond. 

Attendees will hear from practicing principals and other educational experts about professional learning focused on building and sustaining culture, creating systems to support a common mission and growth for all stakeholders.

$375 per workshop


Breakfast/Registration: 7:30 - 8:00 a.m.

Stage 1

  • The leader in you. Who you are and what you do.
  • Difficult conversations.
  • Developing, communicating and maintaining a clear kid focused vision.
  • Data - focused drivers for change.
  • High powered leadership teams.
  • Self care - from surviving to thriving.
  • Developing and maintaining a growth minded evaluation system.

Stage 2


  • Critical conversations - focused feedback aimed at improving practice.
  • Managing the observation and evaluation process.
  • Equity leadership - engaging staff in deep learning.
  • High impact PLC's.
  • Leveraging teacher leadership.
  • School law review.
  • Student discipline - creating systems that are good for kids.

Stage 3

March 7-8, 2019 | Four Points by Sheraton, Seattle Airport South

  • Writing defensible teacher evaluations.
  • Creating your vision to drive next year and beyond.
  • Summarizing your leadership. Your impact and your evaluation.
  • Creating a differentiated PD plan for your staff.
  • Self care revisited.
  • Hiring, retaining and assigning dynamic staff.
  • Managing change: laying the foundation for next year’s initiatives.
